Courtenay Jacklin Joins the Roster of West Coast Environmental Law’s Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund

DGW Law is pleased to announce that associate lawyer Courtenay Jacklin has joined the roster of lawyers who work with West Coast Environmental Law‘s Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund (“EDRF”)! Courtenay will work with EDRF clients to provide legal services to protect the environment. This fund is a unique access to environmental justice program that provides financial assistance for BC residents to retain legal counsel at reduced rates. Applicants for the EDRF have used funding to resolve disputes in negotiations and mediation, in court or before government tribunals.

Every year, EDRF distributes $150,000 in grants to individuals, community groups, non-profit organizations and First Nations across BC. With the addition of legal services, clients are able to more effectively and actively participate in environmental-decision making. Past matters that the EDRF lawyers have helped with range from protecting habitat for endangered caribou to protecting water.
